Publication Ethics

The Proceedings of the National Seminar on Mechanical Engineering and Technology (SNTTM) adheres to high ethical standards in scientific publishing, ensuring integrity, transparency, and accountability in all stages of the publication process. The publication ethics of this proceeding align with international guidelines for scholarly publishing and emphasize the following principles:

1. Author Responsibilities

  • All submitted manuscripts must be original, free from plagiarism, and should not be under consideration or published elsewhere.
  • Authors must ensure that their research is conducted ethically, and data is accurately reported without fabrication, falsification, or manipulation.
  • Proper citations and acknowledgments must be given to all sources, including previous studies and funding bodies.
  • Authorship should be limited to individuals who have significantly contributed to the research. All co-authors must agree to the final version of the manuscript and its submission.
  • Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest that may affect the interpretation of the research.
  • Manuscripts submitted to the SNTTM proceedings must be presented at the seminar before being considered for publication.

2. Reviewer Responsibilities

  • Reviewers must provide objective and constructive feedback to improve the quality of the manuscript.
  • All information in the manuscript must be kept confidential and should not be used for personal advantage.
  • Reviewers must declare any potential conflicts of interest and decline the review if necessary.
  • Reviewers should identify any ethical concerns, such as plagiarism or data manipulation, and report them to the editors.

3. Editor Responsibilities

  • Editors are responsible for ensuring a fair, impartial, and timely peer-review process.
  • Editorial decisions must be based solely on the manuscript’s scientific merit, originality, and relevance to the seminar’s scope.
  • Editors must ensure that all ethical concerns raised by reviewers or readers are investigated and addressed properly.
  • Confidentiality must be maintained throughout the review and publication process.
  • Editors must take appropriate action in cases of suspected misconduct, including retraction or correction of published papers if necessary.

4. Ethical Compliance and Misconduct

  • The Proceedings of SNTTM strictly prohibits plagiarism, duplicate publication, and any form of research misconduct.
  • If ethical violations or research misconduct are detected at any stage, the manuscript may be rejected, retracted, or corrected, and appropriate actions will be taken against the responsible parties.
  • Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to adhere to ethical guidelines set by recognized organizations such as COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics).

By submitting a manuscript to the Proceedings of SNTTM, authors agree to comply with the stated ethical principles and accept the conditions for publication, including the mandatory presentation at the SNTTM seminar before publication consideration.
